“I love how Alwyn combines technical work with the importance of character and text. Most of all, Alwyn creates a warm and supportive environment where I feel able to take risks and attempt new
things. It was incredibly valuable to watch her work with other singers and see from ‘outside’ how much she was able to transform everybody’s singing.”

“Alwyn’s coaching is just so skilful, both on technique and on performance, and she fits the coaching to the singer, letting widely different voices learn from each other’s development. This course is pretty much unique in our area of music. Long may it continue!"

“Alwyn has created the rarest of things: a truly supportive, warm and safe environment in which to learn and grow. Alwyn's vast knowledge and experience was inspirational to witness. She treated every artist with kindness and respect, asking thought-provoking questions and drawing something special out of everyone.”

A wonderful opportunity to learn as part of a small group, observing each other as you work with me on your chosen pieces. We provide a safe and welcoming environment where you can try out new repertoire, ask questions and learn not only from me, but from each other.

I currently offer 1-1 coaching at my music studio in Cardiff, in London, and from time to time in Manchester.

I love my work with students and young singers and can offer masterclasses and small group classes in a conservatoire setting.

It's wonderful to see the development of young performers as they learn from each other, in a friendly and nurturing environment.

This work would also be suitable for young artist training programmes and summer schools.

“Alwyn Mellor is that rare beast, a powerful dramatic soprano whose voice still retains its youthful luminosity. She is set fair to become the great Wagner heroine of her day.”

“Alwyn Mellor, the most touching Brunnhilde I have ever heard, subtle right to the end of her world-denouncing Immolation…”

“Mellor’s profoundly moving Immolation Scene is not all high-tensile steel but conveys nobility, a serene inner dignity and sense of resignation. Hers is an astonishing portrayal that I feel incredibly lucky to have experienced.”

“The gleaming soprano of Alwyn Mellor as Brünnhilde seems limitless in its power to sound out and to move.”
